I like to look good, I like to be fit and trim and all of that… but that isn’t why I work out.
I have never had a problem with my self image or my confidence, not even when I was at my heaviest.
In our modern culture, looks are valued above all else it seems, so I wanted to make it clear that getting into shape was a health issue for me, and not about being attractive. I look good, and I know it, and doing more time at the gym doesn’t change that one way or the other. For me this is all about the total health benefit everyone can get from a healthy, active lifestyle. I think the first step everyone should take is to start a nutritional program of some kind to help heal your body from the inside. You will need to start a workout program of some kind, as well, even if it is just walking and stretching, but without a nutritional program to help you, all the exercise in the world can only help so much. Another factor most people overlook when it comes to help and wellness is getting a good night’s sleep. Allow your body and the mind to have calm, restful sleep is the foundation for every other aspect of your health and wellness. Although I don’t have a gym membership, I do take a couple of weekly classes online. I do yoga in my living room, in front of the tv, with a live instructor coaching me through it all.
