After a couple months of slowly improving, I have become very detailed when it comes to apartment maintenance, cleaning, plus giving everything I own more TLC. Before I found an aged piano in the attic plus decided to bring it back to life, you’d be taxing pressed to find my house cleaned plus tidied if you stopped by randomly. I was working on all of the appliances that we had, usually overloading the washing machine plus throwing it off balance. My oven was not looking good while also being fully covered with charred bread crumbs on the bottom below the electric heating elements. It all changed when I dug out this aged upright piano that must have been there from the previous owner, although they never mentioned it when I purchased the house. Fixing it and getting it to play in-tune again was a lengthy but rewarding process. It gave me a renewed sense of responsibility for our house as well as everything in it. I started doing as much maintenance work that I could, between cleaning off plus power washing our roof, reorganizing our kitchen, plus planting a modern garden out back to name a few. I also took it upon myself to replace the aged plus worn weatherstripping in our door plus window frames. Weatherstripping is important because it prevents air conditioned air from escaping while simultaneously preventing hot outdoor air from dripping in over time. Without it your A/C will run harder plus for longer periods of time than what is necessary. This not only raises your energy bills, it also shortens the life of the A/C. Once I had modern weatherstripping installed, I already saw a big time difference with cooling system performance.
